May. 21st, 2003 09:25 pmApparently only Suzie and I think that a masquerade is an enormously good idea. I was really looking forward to organising it to. I'm very disappointed. *sniffs* Why aren't you guys interested? You suck. (Yes, because insulting people you want something from is a perfect way of convincing them. *flicks self*
Talk about strange randomness. I've had three Ian Holms, three Andy Serkises, a Bernard Hill, and a Sean Astin. Dammit, give me Billy Boyd! *pokes LOTR.net*
"Rated PG-13 for epic battle sequences"
Heh, I got Elijah. *snickers*
Those who are both slash and LOTR fans will appreciate this story, "In Which Billy Boyd Says Stuff". It's the reason why I'm refreshing LOTR over and over again.
OMG, I just head Viggo! I don't think I've ever heard Viggo at LOTR.net.
And Christopher Lee, good god. That is a beautiful, deep, evil voice. And English. That helps.
Foo. Even if you don't think Orlando Bloom is sexy, his intro to LOTR is meltworthy. Jeeezus.
Liv Tyler sounds like she's on drugs. Go listen; she really, really does.
Just as I was about to give up... I heard Billy! I can die complete now. *grins inanely*
Hoom. I was a Bad Girl today, and went to the comic shop during lunch. I was also about ten minutes late getting back. It's extraordinary how long it takes to travel within the city.
I was actually also going up that way to browse Target's selection of gloves (nothing I was prepared to pay money for), their fishnets (the style I wanted only available in anklets, for god's sake) and boots (no granny boots. *sulk*). There's also a shoe shop up by the comic store in question, but it had absolutely nothing of interest, and less variation that I'd hoped for. I'm considering browsing Myer and/or David Jones, but they'll be extraordinarily expensive.
Basically, what I'm looking for is some Victorian style boots. Ideally, these would be those wonderful button boots (I fell in love with them again when I saw a pair in a museum in Bendigo), but as these do not seem to be made by anyone, and I want to wear them, not look at them, so purchasing an antique pair is not only costly but pointless. I need to know a shoemaker. I want a pair just like these. I want them so very, very badly.
So, I'm planning on settling for granny boots, but I suspect these will also be rather difficult to find.
Anyway, after my useless boot mission, I went to the comic shop, where I was able to procure issues 4 & 5 of Scars (Warren Ellis/Jacen Burrows). I'm excited, because I hadn't been able to find them before. Anywhere.
I spoke to the shop dude, and he's ordering in issues 1-3 for me, and also the fourth issue of Lady Constantine, which I am informed is only a four issue miniseries, dammit. Grr. He offered to put me on a subscription list, but I couldn't think of any comics that I purchase the individual issues of on a regular basis (although now I come to think of it, I do buy I Feel Sick - though I'm not sure how good Jhonen is with deadlines), so I declined. Their customer service ROCKS!
I also purchased the Vertigo Preview, as there was large amounts of Gaiman in it. There was stacks of good interviews in there, and there's lots of comics that I'd love to try out. *rubs hands with glee* The next one I want to knock over is Preacher, because there's about twenty books less of that than there is of Hellblazer. Damn, but I love Constantine. I'm going to have to try to buy that issue of Zatanna. He's so cartoony! It's amusinge.
How can I have 230 people listed as friends, including 70 communities, and still have nothing to read on Livejournal? And I only got about three comments today. How am I supposed to waste time when you people won't entertain me? Sheesh.

Date: 2003-05-21 04:47 am (UTC)Also, you might be amused that the fiance and I have a pretty horrible wrong idea that involves the Spawn of Constantine - think League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, updated to Mission Impossible/Matrix type hijinks, populated by aged canon characters, or the descendants of said canon characters.

Date: 2003-05-21 05:14 am (UTC)I so want to read some constantine. I've read the gun episode (Shoot?) and the one with the biker on the cover (Good Intentions? Maybe), and that's been it. He just got under my skin when I read him in Sandman.
I'm delirieuse. Poke me if I haven't poked you first...I'm having difficulty trying to add people.
