Dec. 25th, 2002 10:15 pmWore BadPlace!Harry and purple knee-high socks today. Got cool shoulder bag from Overells, with whom we spent the day in the park, carefully shattering our syntax and reglueing it in more interesting designs.
Also got first Lucifer book from sisters (much!love) and Alan Moore's Watchmen from parents. Christmas list some good after all. Also got glass chess set for no easily discernible reason. Do not play chess, and am lousy when I try. Also got more hideous clothing from relatives which won't fit anyway: red one-shoulder shirt with 80s style gathering down side seams and blue singlet top with frills down the front. These people do not know me. Money would be better spent giving me stamps to send letters overseas, or even licorice. I like licorice.
Have now read entirety of Lucifer and half of Watchmen. Got lecture from mother for about 1/2-1 hour about failing uni again. Matched lecture by father yesterday. Lecture by father more succinct. 10 points for content - less repetition.
Found I had a lot in common with Charlotte's younger brother; we spent the day discussing Xbox, webcomics and other fun and geeky topics. Disturbing fact: he's only 14. Couldn't do anything interesting like climb tree or weave bamboo stalks into useful tatami mat due to stupid ankle. On the plus side, ankle now sporting interesting-looking bruises. Good shade of purple.
Went to install Monkey Island tonight (on loan from Chris) and discovered that I only have episodes 3 and 4. Still, once I started up the game, watched the opening sequence and then exited again because I couldn't get the character to interact with his environment, read the FAQ, and started playing again, started to have fun.
Am exceptionally tired and mother will get me up tomorrow at 8am because she is bitch troll from hell.
[Edit: I got the One Ring for Christmas! Refuse to take it off, whatever Frodo says. Not evil. It's high-class jewellery. He's just jealous because he thinks Sam is after Pippin.]

Date: 2002-12-25 03:58 am (UTC)Sounds like an eventful holiday season. I just sat around the pool all day. No complaints, though.
Nat is contactable through her phone tonight and tomorrow. Her internet privileges have been revoked (alas and alack! woe is she!) so any web-based communication will be a little less than successful.
Enjoy TTT tomorrow (I'll still be stuck here in the middle of nowhere).

Date: 2002-12-25 04:33 pm (UTC)Can I borrow it sometime? *grin*
Weird about Monkey Island. That was every CD in the compilation box though!! MI1&MI2 should both be on the one CD, probably titled "Monkey Island Madness" or something. I've had a look round and I can't find them elsewhere here . . . *sigh*
Stop the press, just found it in a pile of other stuff. Phew! I'll give it to you shortly. Worth playing them in sequence.
*comforts* re: uni stuff
