Nov. 10th, 2002 12:40 amMy parents walked in on my watching Monkey's Mask tonight. I just had it on for background noise while I worked on a page from my last year's NaNo & Extended Fic assignment.
Of course, my mother has to walk in on the first sex scene in the movie. If I wasn't already out, I suspect I would have been outed tonight.

Date: 2002-11-11 03:09 am (UTC)Clothes shopping generally just depresses me.
I've got Crete, Monkey's Mask, Akenhaten (that's a legit spelling, can't be arsed finding my copy to see if it's hers), What A Piece of Work, and the new book (the black one with the moon on it). Last year's writer's festival I went to see her read.

Date: 2002-11-11 07:12 pm (UTC)My book shopping addiction is taking over my life, i am doing a literacy paper at the moment and i take books to show my lecturer, this isn't to suck up, this is cause i get so excited about books!
Because i am doing an education degree, i have an excuse of why i buy children's books so often.
I want to get the new one that you are talking about, and i want to see if i can find the other books that she put out many years ago.
Clothes shopping can be heinous, but i love finding a bargain, and so i often shop in op shops for mens pants! But i love buying underwear, i have had quite an obsession with getting these really amazing bra's. I have spent $79 on a underwear set once, and i have never worn it yet as its too nice, and i don't want to *waste* it!
I have a serious problem with this!
But books, oh books, do you know any good bookstores in Sydney, i know it's not your city, but you hear rumours etc.
Also what do you think of hothead paisan?

Date: 2002-11-13 06:00 am (UTC)Well, all I can recommend in Sydney is "Readers Feast" simply because I'm a member of their Melbourne b/shop & get 10% of what I spend in vouchers twice a year.
I think they're also located in Oxford st, which is the queer st of Sydney, if I remember correctly.
Don't mind Hothead (have read very little) but similarly with Bitchy Bitch & Bitchy Butch, isn't really my cup of tea. Prefer Dykes to Watch Out for or Boy Meets Boy for my queer comics.
