Can I share something? In Melbourne today, it reached 46°. 46.5 in the suburbs where Steph and I are holed up (thankfully somewhere with airconditioning; ie, not our house). That's 115.7°F. It's now officially the hottest day on record. This is also the third week in a row with temperatures over 40°C (104°F). Last week we had four days in a row over 40. Also we're in a record-breaking drought.
And they say global warming is a fallacy.
P.S., can we has a Dunedin pls? I long for summer temperatures of under 30.

Date: 2009-02-08 12:16 am (UTC)It was 40 in Canberra yesterday and I felt bad for whinging when seeing what Melb and Adelaide have experienced. This summer has been extroadinary. Jesse said it was 47+ out west (point cook) at his work, so he ended up leaving about lunchtime.
I watched all the news coverage this morning about the bushfires and it's really, really scary. I can't believe places as close as Narre Warren were affected.

Date: 2009-02-08 09:48 am (UTC)I lived through that in a house I was housesitting for in 2005. I'd rather just put another layer on.
