Dec. 29th, 2004 09:23 pmI really, really fucking hate that little sentence, "Long time x, first time y", whether x and y are reader/writer, listener/caller or lurker/poster. SO MUCH FUCKING HATE. I hate every one of you that uses it. Yes, even you, up the back, with no hair because you go into chemo every week. Don't think your leukaemia can get you off from this obnoxiousness!
ALSO: it is not "roomate". What the hell sort of portmanteau word is that? It sounds like a derogatory term for an Australian: "roo mate", or perhaps it's a frighteningly carnivorous room. Would it kill you to put a second 'm' in there? HONESTLY.
In less ranty and more important news, the death toll in Asia and the subcontinent continues to rise. It's a bloody awful mess. The Australian Government is apparently boosting their aid to thirty-five million dollars, which is nice. The Australian cricket team has also donated their seventeen thousand dollar cheque for winning the Boxing Day Test Match, which just makes proves that it's the game for gentlemen, frankly.
God. What a fucking mess. I might see if I can find one of the old "Give us money!" envelopes Oxfam's sent me and give a donation.

Date: 2004-12-29 12:14 pm (UTC)I only like the sentence when it is mutilated for evil purposes. But that's like most things.
Roomate. Ah, the images, the images!
I have always thought that room-mate should be hyphenated. Just because.
Have I mentioned that I love cricket? I love cricket. I've never watched a game of cricket, have only played it once, and thus don't know the rules, but cricket is great. Full of true gentlemen.
