'People say, "You're either a Beatles fan, or a Stones fan." I would phrase it "You're either a Beatles fan, or a retard." If it came down to a battle of wits between the Beatles & the Stones, the Beatles could all leave except for Ringo & they'd still win. It wouldn't matter if it was a contest to build a rocket to Mars or finish a game of Candyland, they'd win. The Beatles are known for musical innovation; the Stones are known for Keith's blood transfusions. The only musically interesting thing the Stones ever did was the vibe part at the beginning of this song. So they made sure to make the lyrics a load of misogynistic slime just to cancel that out.' - Inexplicable Object of the Week

Apparently lots of people have had Neil Gaiman turn up in their dreams lately. This may be significant, although I'm not sure what it's supposed to be signifying.

It's Tod Holton! Super Green Beret!

Also, do yourself a favour, and go and check out Fredo Viola's video for his track The Sad Song. It's absolutely beautiful and will only take a few minutes out of your day. It is large-ish, though.

Went with Steph and Hedda to see Altona City Theatre's Wizard of Oz. Hedda looked a little different from her photos, but at the same time, like someone I've known a long time. 'Twas a bit odd. She was also tired as all buggery, poor thing, due to the Steph-Sleepover-Syndrome (of which I have also suffered before). She is a lovely person, and I just hope I didn't offend or similar with occasional bouts of oafishness. And for all those who have been harrassing Steph with queries as to how Hedda is doing &c, I can fill you in on the goss right now: She is mostly fine, but a freak lawnmower accident whilst on the plane took off her right leg at the hip, and it has been replaced by a brass watering-trough. She is, understandably, a little self-conscious of this fact, and so requests that people do not bring it up in her presence. She is otherwise fine, and is expecting to be the proud owner of a new hand-cranked egg beater any day now.

Yes, you're one of two people on my flist who had Neil Gaiman dreams. I found it all very odd.

*looks at comic*
*looks at that last paragraph of yours*

Err...maybe I should go to bed?

*snicker* Damn hard to keep shiny, that trough. *cough*

I was so very happy to finally meet you, I only wish I wasn't so completely exhausted by then. I had a great time and wasn't offended psh, not at all. ;)

Plus he said that several of his friends have been dreaming him recently. Which makes me wonder if the real Neil Gaiman hasn't been split in two, and half of him is wandering around in dreams trying to get back... like that Diana Wynne Jones book.

Heh, bed is always good.

You should try Brasso. Good for that sort of thing. *nods*

Ah, but one day when jetlag and Steph Sleepover Syndrome has been conquered, we SHALL MEET AGAIN...

What are the Diana Wynn Jones books like?

I used to completely believe when I was young that my dreams were in fact my soul wandering around in places I couldn't be myself. Then I would fly back into my body.
I had a wild imagination, back then.

Mmmm warm bed.

*is a Beatles fan AND a Stones fan*

Clearly, Neil is planning total world domination, and is infiltrating the dreams of his readers in order to build an army.

Be afraid, world. Be very afraid.

Quite good. Neil likes her, if that's any indication. The one to which I am referring, whose name I have forgotten, actually has Neil make a cameo appearance... although I didn't spot it myself. (And there's an E on the end of Wynne, by the way.)

It's certainly possible... although all the inciting he's done of me is to make me write more of my novel.

Perhaps he plans for you to write a really long novel, get it published in hardback and then use the books to bomb unsuspecting world leaders?
