Back-breaking work indeed.
Jul. 15th, 2004 12:32 amStarted today quite slowly. I didn't have uni, or anywhere pressing to be (didn't want to go to Coffee Group because I need some Me time, and also neither Liam nor Steph were going to be there...). Got up, had some breakfast, put on a load of washing, watched an episode of Law and Order SVU (Law and Order of one form or another is always on cable). Was bored, wanted to do a bit of cleaning, so I got some clean water and wiped down the door to our linen closet (it was filthy). Then got online, discovered that Steph was missing me as much as I was her (we got used to each other over the last couple of weeks), so I called her. We ended up talking for something like 7 hours today, in hour or two blocks. While we were in the early stages of the phone conversation, we agreed that we both needed to clean our rooms, so we spent about five hours of the conversation talking to each other while cleaning. It meant I got far more done than I would otherwise achieve, which, combined with my l33t throwing-stuff-out skillz learnt while cleaning Liam's house, means that my floor is the clearest it's been in about a year. Okay, maybe slightly less than that. Still.
I'm so proud. I just have to clear the stuff that was piled on my bed (I deliberately didn't put much there), and start putting away some of the enormous pile of clean clothing away. Then I tackle my desk. That might wait until next week.
I have a story idea for Sandra's twisted and wrong slash challenge. I would have started it today, but I've been somewhat otherwise occupied...
Also, Bek? I have a pair of your heels that you left here in 1999. Feel free to drop by and pick them up anytime. I'll be home most of tomorrow, for example.

I just posted a lengthy semi-whinge about housework. I kept thinking of that unnaturally clean cleaning man whilst scrubbing and rinsing, and there, you use your 'dirty' icon! Ah, pleasant coincidences...

Date: 2004-07-15 02:30 am (UTC)Ah, my house cleaning...I clean my room really well to hospital-grade standards...then I let it go for a while, dust accumulates, spiders move into my bookcase and leave silvery threads everywhere, things fall on the floor, then when I start stumbling over things more than usual, I decide it is time for a major clean up.
I would love a cleaner icon!
...and was it just me or was there no Black Books on last Friday?
