Hmm. Realised this weekend that there is NO CHANCE I shall be able to put together a costume for cosplaying at Manifest next year. *shrugs* Makes me a little less stressed, I guess...
Started working on my pirate jacket. By "start", I mean purchased pattern and material. Cut pattern out.
Talked with Buhfly about her new story and I lovelovelove it so much. A little PZBish, now I come to think of it, but very amazing and cool. It has an evil carnival in it, which is proof enough of its coolness. Also, I get to be an evil carny. This makes me inordinately pleased.
I also had a psychic moment and knew that the next challenge for
5am_something would involve a carnival. How right I was. ;)
Had the Wendy picnic on Saturday, which was enormous amounts of fun. I found socialising with strangers slightly less draining and easier than usual, which was nice. I also found the first egg in the Eostre egg hunt! Go me! (as in, within seconds of us starting. Hee!) I also ate it all, despite my egg-squeamishness induced by Biology in year 11 (I used to enjoy raw egg, but now, no longer). I hasten to add that they were hard-boiled.
I also played what I shall term as "backyard soccer" with Alex (Billy-Boyd-lookalike-amazing-violinist-person-also-v-shy), Reuben (Wendy's spawn) and random-child-friend-of-Reuben's-possibly-called-Julian. Alex is v amusing when he wants to be. Also my years playing backyard soccer with the Marshalls have meant I am more formidable goalkeeper than otherwise would be (I managed to actually stop the ball a couple of times, which is all I expect). Afterwards I was arrested for crimes against the common hyphen.
That last part may have been a lie.
Sunday I had to drive Nys to Monash, and I dressed rather conservatively for Wendy's concert. Feel I have let the side down. Ah, well. Maybe the geisha look can be later.
Hmm. I think that was all. My weekend was perhaps not overly exciting, but it was sufficient for me. It certainly did take up a fair amount of time.

Date: 2003-08-04 05:44 am (UTC)I noticed you'd posted a story! I plan on reading it. Just not tonight... none of the words would register. In fact, I'm going to bed right now. *snores at keys*

Date: 2003-08-05 05:22 am (UTC)It's actually a pattern that has early American hero-type thingies in it; a Davy Crockett style outfit, a Ben Franklin outfit, a possibly a Puritan or Quaker type outfit, and the one I'm nicking the jacket from. It was as close as I could find to a pirate-y type pattern, and I'm hoping it turns out well.
