I'm this close to throwing a tanty.

Damn, but I like that word. [this is not an invitation to describe my behaviour as "chucking a tanty". I will not look kindly upon that.]

Anyway. Much like my attempt of one and a half years ago to get my hands on some Voltaire CDs without ordering them, I have now been into four major booksellers in the attempt of getting Christopher Moore's Bloodsucking Fiends. This is all thistle_dearThistle's fault, dem her. I've been to the big Dymocks in the city, and to Reader's Feast, and even to Book City. I went to Borders at Chadstone today, figuring that they must have a copy.

They didn't. I looked in Fantasy, and Horror, and General Fiction. I did find a copy of Lamb, the Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by same, and an anthology of shortish stories (the introduction claims eleven, which is weird, because there's only five). I've read the only story in the anthology I'm likely to read; they're short stories set in established universes, and I don't read Anne McCaffrey, George R. R. Martin, Tad Williams, or Robert Jordan. I do, however, read Terry Pratchett. And this "new" story (the info page says it's from 1998, which is weird) was worth the $18 cover price for the experience of laughing myself nearly sick. Woo!

No Bloodsucking Fiends. I may have to give in, and get Readers Feast to order me a copy. Blah.
