Got into conversation with Mickey at lunch today - long story - and he informs me that Placebo is this Thursday. This surprises me as I thought it was July. I check the Triple J gig guide, they confirm me: yup, July. *is now confused*
So, Sara, Nat: if Mickey's right (don't think he is) I can't make class this Thursday. Otherwise, class at my place as arranged.
[edit: I'm right, Mickey's a silly git. *ruffles his hair affectionately* Class at my place.]
In other news: whee!I'msoglam.
Went to Priceline to buy cosmetics for Placebo-ness. Have lost the little bag with my small quantity of personal (gawth) makeup, can only find stage makeup. Is hideous. Do not like it. So: to Priceline.
All up, it cost me $52. *wince* I went in there looking for as much glitter & dragqueenyness as I could lay my hands on. This was not much. I found liquid eyeliner by the same brand that I bought my original black stuff. On a whim, I bought silver, hoping it'd be cool. I bought a tub of silver glitter gel - too much for me usually. I would have gone opalescent, or similar. Still, we're aiming for mirrorball!lips, so silver glitter it was. I also found this awesome Australis eyeshadow called Caribbean, which is glittery green, but with a blue shimmer in the right light - like a peacock. This'll be good for the masquerade, if nothing else, I thought, and bought it. I also bought a pair of false eyelashes as I can only find one half of my old ones from ballet, and the tube of adhesive was a tube of rubber years ago, and tweezers, because my eyebrows are very unglam.
So. Had a trial run, because it's fun to stuff around with makeup. I have silver eyeliner on my bottom lid only. One line straight across, with little drawn in eyelashes, somewhat this lass here. Black falsies on top, the restrained version. Falsies are as much of a bastard to put on as I remember. Next time will remember to do that before the eyeshadow. Glitter gel on the cheeks, as usual, and over the eyeshadow. I tried to get a green colour on the lips by putting on plain lip gloss & then putting on some of the eyeshadow (there were no good lipstick colours. Honestly. Where does a girl have to go to get blue lipstick? Even a good hearty purple?), but the effect was minimal. Merely a generous slather of the glitter gel looked awesome, though.
With my short, curly hair, I feel like a brunette!glam!Marilyn Munroe. I'd love to see me as a character drawn by Zan, Ziggy Stardust-style. I feel so nifty looking. Wish I could go to work like this. *is happy*
