Mar. 15th, 2005 11:06 pmI want to go glamourbombing.
I have been pathetically sick the last few days (nearly six. thinks: has it been that long?). I visited Steph on Sunday after work. We stayed at her place that night, and on Monday morning she served me soup, we came home, and I went to work again. I worked Friday through to Monday. Monday's payslip will be fair, as it was three and a half hours on double time and a half.
Not going to class tomorrow. I deserve a day in bed, as the only way I can get the pain in my throat (it's raw inside and my glands are enormous) down to a tolerable level is painkillers. I even have swollen glands on the back of my neck. I didn't even know that happened.
I bought the Tori Amos album The Beekeeper today with the Sanity voucher Steph gave me months ago in lieu of petrol money. I really, really like it. It's probably my favourite of all of her albums I've heard.
I also finished my first Dorothy L. Sayers novel today - Strong Poison - whilst tucked up in bed rather pathetically. Despite being warned by
copperbadge and
gadge that it was not particularly good, I quite enjoyed it, as I love her writing style. I suspected the murderer, and even the murder method (more or less), but there were details I overlooked, or missed the significance of, and so forth, and so still quite liked it.
I'm taking my miserable self back to bed.
[Edit: Oh, I forgot: today I finally ventured into the Catholic Bookshop in the CBD and bought myself a rosary. No, I'm not Catholic. I'm a pantheist. I just think rosaries are nifty, and a kinda cool way to connect to the divine, however you perceive it. And Christian bookshops are a little scary. And P22 Cezanne is fucking everywhere. I'm seriously considering playing a game with friends where we go to different shops & the first one to find Cezanne wins that round.]
