Went to play basketball today with Nick, Mick and Chris. Rolled my ankle. Absolute agony. 'Tis badly sprained, according to my mother, who hasn't looked at it properly yet.

Chris was an angle (yes, that's deliberate) who drove me to Box Hill hospital, where we stole a wheelchair and he took me to the local GP.

I still can't put much weight on it, and if I put any amount of weight on it for more than a few seconds at a time for more than a few minutes, it hurts like buggery. The doctor strapped it, and seemed surprised when I knew precisely how to strap my own damn ankle. Because I never had weak ankles that got sprained so often that I had to give up pointe work.

This is far more painful than a sprain.

I've borrowed my littlest sister's scooter to limp along on, because not only have our crutches been lost, Dad can no longer find his cane.


I've just discovered that the LJ gurus have finished the work on RSS feeds they were talking about awhile ago. I can read Megatokyo on my friends page now!

I have Wendy's party tomorrow. I was going to finish my frock coat, and, with any luck, make some breeches to wear as well. Now I've screwed my ankle, that's all gone out the door. It's pretty depressing.

I really, really hate not being self-sufficient.
